Positive Affirmations Determine Your Success

Many professionals such as those at any of the Southwestern Company affiliate companies can tell you that there really is something to be said for affirmations . They may not practice them, but it can be something that they do once in a while, when they remember it, and it always makes a difference. The thing about affirmations is that they shape the way you are prepared to look at the world. If you start out the day telling the world that you love it — and believe that statement, then it is going to take something pretty big to pull you down from that kind of high.

The thing is that you use affirmations every day without knowing it. It is practicing positive affirmations that take hard work, dedication, and help get you to the top of your game. If you wake up every morning saying that you can do anything better than everyone else, and you take the time to learn the necessary skills, and you study all the right things, and you work hard toward your goals, you are going to do it. Here is the key though. If you wake up in the morning and tell yourself that you suck, you can’t do anything right, you don’t know what you are doing, etc., then you aren’t even going to want to read the books, learn the skills, or work hard, because what is the point when you already can’t do anything right. It is all in your attitude , and the attitude you put yourself in.

The benefits of being able to tell yourself that you love everything, and that you can do anything, and believe it when you say it can be seen the next time someone puts you down for something. Instead of worrying about it, meditate and do some affirmations. Tell yourself that you can do well, that you are doing well, that you are great. Say it until you believe it and see how you feel. You won’t be in as bad of a mood any longer. This is important to sales people of all types, because they are constantly facing rejection. A company that hires on people who can keep this good attitude and holds onto those people not only will be around for a long time, but might even win some awards like Southwestern Company did.

Hong Kong Pink Dolphins and Harbor Cruises

Floating out onto the waters of Hong Kong has many different experiences. Some time in the 1990′s the Dolphins showed up in the water as pink instead of a blue grey. There is a tour that will take you out to see these Dolphins and you will be amazed at how pink they really are. There is a company called Hong Kong Dolphinwatch that has a good sight success rate. So far, scientists don’t know why these beautiful mammals are pink. There is a theory that they lost their natural camouflage because they don’t have the threat of natural predators. In other words, there are not sharks in these waters. This is a fantastic sight to see if you get the chance to grab a tour. If it is a last minute idea you may want to check with your Hong Kong hotel for more information and maybe some reservations.

Another really experience with the harbor is to have dinner and then take a night cruise. There is a tour that starts with an excellent dinner at the Revolving 66 Restaurant and then ends up on a night cruise of the harbor. This is an amazing experience. The restaurant is located on the 62ND floor of the cities tallest building. They have a great buffet dinner with all kinds of foods available. As one is eating dinner they can see the whole city make its transition from bright shinny day, into soft evening with sunset and then watch it light up with city lights as it moves into night. That is when it is time to head to the harbor. There going to power up the boat, get you a cocktail and then head out for a beautiful drift through the harbor. The city lights are spectacular and on gets twice the fun as they cast their brilliant shadows onto the water. It is just amazing.

Robeson Center in Princeton

This is a bit of a riddle. Try to find the common denominator here: the longest-running Shakespeare play on Broadway, and one of the thickest files the FBI has on any U.S. citizen. Paul Robeson plays a central role in both, and both of these things tell part of the story about his life, which almost makes a pretty fair picture. It’s still a biography that’s up for interpretation, and like a great Shakespeare play, that just means that it’s dense and interesting.

Robeson was born in Princeton, and today, the Arts Council here is houses at the Paul Robeson Center for the Arts . This is a long way to come, but it also points to a long way still to go, and his inspirations can certainly help point in the right directions.

He was born in Princeton in 1898, studied law at Colombia, where he also did drama on the side. He became a lawyer right around the same time that his side hobby led to a role in one of O’Neill’s plays, and this lead to a whole lot more. When he did play Othello, in the title role, this was the one that got him the kinds of accolades after recognition has set in. People did come to see him perform, enough to warrant a very long run that’s still a record holder to this day.

At the same time, while he was meeting remarkable people in show business, he was making observations that would lead to a life that was very active in social justice. When he went to the Soviet Union with the genius director Eisenstein, he had something of a breakthrough moment, where he felt he was seen as a full human being for the first time. He spent the rest of his life challenging injustices, and struggling for the rights of exiled, oppressed, and native peoples all around the world.

With the legacy he’d left behind, which includes a broken ceiling that allowed other generations that chance to climb, art centers, and centennial celebrations at the University , there’s a big debt the world owes him. Visitors can see the birthplace and the arts center from some of the luxurious hotels Princeton has to offer, knowing this is a place where magnificent changes can happen, and perhaps even more importantly, the city itself recognizes this and celebrates it.
